Rear Gearbox Mount

The 2.0L 16v engine had so much back-and-forth movement under hard acceleration that you could feel it in the steering. I tried a ploy replacement, but that rattled the dash so much that I took it back out without even driving the car.

The JMR Mk1 Golf 020 rear gearbox mount sorts the problem out instantly with no additional rattles. 

The benefits of the mount are:

• Engine movement is virtually nonexistent.
• Doesn't come loose anymore.
• Gearchange 'feels' better.
• Improved launching from a standing start.
• The rubber bush seems to be lasting better than the original
• Engine just feels more 'solid' and 'tied in'.

While writing this post, I discovered this unit is no longer made, and I was unable to find this product on the JMR racing website, but VW Retrofication sells an identical unit.
